Czech media has reported that VW Group owned Czech automaker Skoda has been busy readying a more powerful Skoda Octavia RS. The upcoming version of the Octy is expected to be released in 2015. It may be noted that next year, Skoda will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 120 RS, its most successful rally car ever and to commemorate this occasion, they would introduce a limited edition Octavia RS that would have a max power of 280 PS (206 kW).

It is being expected that powering this model would be a VW Golf R-sourced 2.0 liter four cylinder turbocharged engine. For the Octy RS though, the motor will be detuned by 20 PS (15 kW). Also, unlike the all wheel drive configuration of the Golf flagship, the Octavia RS 280, in all probability, would have a front wheel drive layout. However, we expected the commemorative model to come with a stiffer suspension setup and bespoke alloy wheels.
Also, the upcoming model will be built in limited numbers and safely expect the car to be pricier than the standard Octavia RS. However, it is almost for sure that the model will be cheaper than the Volkswagen Golf R.
