Powerful and Compact VW ID.2all makes debut

Volkswagen has announced its plan to launch a range of electric vehicles in the near future, and this prototype will be one of the newest additions to this lineup. This project is codenamed the VW ID.2all. And it might be named the Polo EV in the future. This move depicts the commitment of Volkswagen towards the transition of the brand to a fully electric future.

The Volkswagen ID.2all is an upcoming electric small car from the German automaker. It is part of Volkswagen’s push towards electric vehicles, which includes the launch of several new EVs such as the ID.3, and the long-wheelbase ID. Buzz, and ID.7. The ID.2all is based on Volkswagen’s MEB platform for front-wheel drive cars. And the other models will be spawned with similar underpinnings. Currently, the details about the ID.2all are limited. But we can expect that the ID.2all will offer a versatile package comprising a good range of modern features and technology.

About the Dimension and Exterior of ID.2all

The Volkswagen ID.2all concept will be a spacious and comfortable 5-seater electric car with a length of 4,050mm, width of 1,812mm, and height of 1,530mm. Its wheelbase will measure 2,600mm, almost as long as the Golf Mk8. This prototype looks fascinating. And the production version will look striking in person. Upfront, this car will feature a full-width LED light bar and huge wheel arches that house the 20-inch wheels with 225/40 R20 tires. Additionally, the car will have a straight window line, unique door handles, new C-pillars, and a rear bumper with a black diffuser.

About the Interior and Features

Moving to the interiors, the VW ID.2all will have a roomy interior. The interior has a black and blue theme. The passengers can enjoy a roomy cabin in this car. Practicality is expected with a 40:60 split seat, foldable passenger seat backrest, and 50-liter storage under the rear seats. On the central console are a 12.9-inch touchscreen system and a 10.9-inch digital cockpit screen, wireless charging, heads-up display, etc. Advanced features like Travel and Park Assist, electric seats with a massage function, and a panoramic sunroof will be on offer.

Powertrain and Launch Details

The Volkswagen ID 2all concept will be powered by a front-mounted motor producing 222 hp of power. This car will do a 0-100 km/h sprint in under 7 seconds and a top speed of 160km/h. In addition, the electric vehicle is expected to offer a range of 450 km. This car can be charged from 10-80 percent in just 20 minutes via a DC fast charger. For home charging, buyers will also have the option of an 11 kW charger.
This car is currently a concept and is set to be launched in 2025, with sales starting in early 2026. Volkswagen is planning to manufacture the ID 2all at its Seat-run plant in Spain from 2026.

Development of the ID. 2all is based on the latest evolutionary stage of the modular electric drive (MEB) platform. Kai Grünitz, Member of the Brand Board of Management responsible for Technical Development: “The ID. 2all will be the first MEB vehicle with front-wheel drive. We are exploiting the great flexibility offered by our modular electric drive (MEB) platform and will set new standards in terms of technology and everyday usability with the MEB Entry platform.”

Volkswagen is also again placing greater focus on design. Andreas Mindt, Head of Design at Volkswagen Passenger Cars: “The ID. 2all gives a preview of the new design language of Volkswagen, which is based on the three pillars stability, likeability, and excitement.”
