Porsche Macan interiors revealed in Teaser video

The 2014 Porsche Macan will make its public debut later this month at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Porsche recently released a new teaser video of the upcoming 2014 Macan. The latest video gives us a glimpse of the Macan’s interiors and it seems like the interiors of the upcoming ‘smaller-than-Cayenne’ SUV from Porsche will mimic those of other models from the Germany based performance car maker.

As can be seen in the screenshot, the Macan’s interiors sport a typical Porsche central transmission tunnel, centre console and overall dash layout.

On the outside, the Macan looks much like the Cayenne. However, worth mentioning is that while the designers at Porsche have borrowed plenty of design cues from the Cayenne, they have done a great job with giving the Macan its own identity. Being shorter, the Macan definitely looks more athletic.

The Macan is underpinned by the same platform that will underpin the next gen Audi Q5. However, Porsche claims that it will make enough changes to the platform to endow the Macan with sportier handling characteristics.

The Macan, like most of the Porsche models out there, would go on sale in both Turbo and non Turbo variants. Differentiating the Macan Turbo from the regular model would be a bolder grille, bigger air inlets at front and a a quad exhaust pipe system. The entry level Macan S is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 engine with max power of 340 hp and peak torque of 460 Nm. The Macan Turbo is powered by a 3.6 liter turbocharged V6 that has a max power of 400 hp and peak torque of 550 Nm. A 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine variant will also be available. The 3.0 litre Audi sourced motor has a max power of 258 hp and peak torque of 580 Nm.
