Porsche Macan EV Spotted Without Camouflage: A Glimpse of the Future

Porsche ‘s electric journey with the Macan has been on the road for nearly two years. And it’s set to reach its most crucial stage next year with the official debut of the electric SUV. However, you don’t need to wait until then to get a sneak peek at the Macan EV’s design. Recent spy photos reveal a prototype of the model with almost no camouflage, giving us a detailed look at its exterior.

Porsche Taycan-Inspired Design

The latest batch of spy shots provides an unprecedented view of the Macan EV, showcasing its front fascia with headlights reminiscent of the Taycan. Furthermore, the headlights are partially covered by black tape, but the rest of the front end remains mostly undisguised. The lower section of the fascia features a trapezoidal-shaped bumper that extends into a lower bumper diffuser. Additional lights with cornering function are located at the corners of the bumper.

Unveiling the Macan ’s Rear End

Moving to the rear, there’s slightly more camouflage covering the taillights. Which appear to be connected by an LED bar in the middle. Moreover, the bumper also sports some black camouflage. However, the fake exhaust pipes beneath the bumper have disappeared. Notably, some photos reveal rear wheels that turn in the opposite direction to the front ones.

Porsche Macan EV Power and Platform

Underneath its sleek exterior, the Macan EV shares its platform with a similarly-sized electric SUV from Audi. The electric Macan is expected to deliver up to 603 horsepower and over 738 pound-feet of instant torque, thanks to its dual-motor setup. For those who prefer traditional powertrains, the combustion-powered Macan will also remain in production for a longer period than initially planned.

Anticipating the Debut

Porsche aims for a full reveal of the electric Macan in 2024. While we await the exact launch date in the coming months. Moreover, it’s expected to hit the market around the middle of next year. Lastly, the uncovered spy photos provide a glimpse of Porsche’s electric future, giving enthusiasts a reason to be excited. It’s hard to say if we will get to see it in India, but considering that the Macan is the volume seller, an EV variant could make it to India.
