We reported when it emerged that Porsche was testing the upcoming 918 Spyder at Nürburgring-Nordschleife and now, Porsche engineers have been once again spotted with the new 918 Spyder.
The new Porsche 918 Spyder is in final stages of development and will go on sale this September.
Porsche will also offer “special” Liquid Metal Blue and Liquid Metal Grey exterior finishes for its upcoming baby and both of these paint jobs will cost US$65000 (eh?) ! Another ‘optional extra’ will be the Weissach Package that strips the car off all its comfort features such as air-con, audio system, armrest and door storage. The package helps in reducing the weight by a good 34 kgs.
The base price for the new car will be US$845,000 in the US markets and €645,000 in Europe.
The 918 Spyder is powered by a plug-in hybrid powerplant consisting of a 570PS+, 4.6-liter, V8 IC engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and a pair of electric motors. The combined output will be of 795-horses!!
