The 918 Spyder has been in the news for shouldering the Herculean task of being a truly desirable supercar from Porsche’s stable in a long time. The details on the 918 Spyder, which were somewhat murky till now, have been revealed. Here’s what you need to know about this sexy speedster.

  • The 918 Spyder to be offered only in left hand drive
  • Price to be more than Rs 6 crore
  • Engine: 4.6 liter V8 with 580bhp and 500 NM m in addition two electric motors with total output of 245 bhp an280 Nm. Total power output for the car pegged at close to 800 bhp with peak torque output being 780NM. Wow figures, both of them!
  • All that torque will be available from as low as 1000 rpm, going all the way up to 4000 rpm. This thing should be blazing quick off the line.
  • 0-100km/h is estimated to be 2.9s with top speed of about 330km/h
  • 7-speed PDK dual clutch transmission with traction management, torque vectoring and a ‘Sailing’ fuel economy mode

  • Special Weissach package will make the 918 Spyder lighter, quicker, and more expensive
  • Weissach Package include, magnesium alloys, no AC, no audio system, carbon interior, use of carbon fiber and titanium in chassis, no glove box, no door handles (straps) and no carpet
  • The Weissach version would be faster than the standard 918 by 2 seconds around the Nurburgring Nordschleife
