Porsche 911 Safari off-road concept to have a Beijing Motor Show debut

It is being said that German performance car maker Porsche will unveil an off-road concept based on its 911 supercar at Beijing Motor Show 2014. The motor show at Beijing will be held in April next year.

The upcoming 911 based concept will be sold under the 911 Safari moniker and will be inspired by the 1978 911 SC Safari rally car.

If the concept vehicle received sufficiently positive feedback at the motor show, there are good chances that Porsche will come up with a few units of the production variant. The production model could go on sale sometime in 2016 and will be targeted at markets where the drivers of supercars need to tackle poor road conditions on occasional basis.

The Porsche 911 Safari concept will be based on the Carrera 4S all wheel drive variant and will sport features like an underbody cladding, beefy tires and a slightly raised suspension.

At present, details on the upcoming concept are quite scarce but safely expect us to update you as soon as we manage to dig out some more info.
