Aston Martin victims get replacement cars on Christmas!

Foram Ruparel got a new Audi A6 and Vikram Mishra got a new Skoda Superb on this Christmas!

“We are satisfied with the compensation” Foram’s dad said, after informing police to drop all the charges.

The two victims of the recent Aston Martin accident that happened earlier this month seem to be quite satisfied with the compensation they’ve received. Most of you would remember that Ruparel and Vikram, while in their cars, were smashed into by a speeding Aston Martin Rapide, which was owned by business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Group. These new cars have been given as replacements to the two victims.

While Foram Ruparel’s Audi A6 was critically damaged in this accident, Vikram Mishra’s Hyundai Elantra suffered a damaged rear-end. The replacement cars were gifted to the accident victims soon after they informed the Gamdevi police to drop charges against the owners of the Rapide.

“On Monday we informed the investigating officer Assistant Police Inspector Ravindra Pawar that we want to withdraw the case and on Tuesday we received the new cars. We are satisfied with the compensation,” Tushar Ruparel, Foram’s father, told media.

Both Ruparel and Mishra get to keep their old cars and while Ruparel gets yet another Audi A6 for her driveway, Vikram gets an upgrade from his Hyundai. 

While the two parties have dropped the charges against the Rapide-owners, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nisar Tamboli, said that the withdrawal of the case won’t affect the investigation. “An FIR has been registered and we will continue with our probe. The case will be committed to a court and it will be up to the court to decide whether to allow withdrawal of prosecution,” he said.

It would be interesting to note the conclusions of this investigation and observe the course of action taken by the law.
