Someone in Ola’s marketing must have a wicked sense of humour as they are literally teasing us with the price of the upcoming electric scooter. The highly anticipated scooter christened as “S1” will be launched tomorrow i.e. Aug 15 at 2 PM via a virtual event. Ola released a video with the title “Ola S1 Price Revealed” which got people excited only to know that it was a nice little prank by the marketing team.
The Video
The video released on Youtube features CEO Bhavesh Aggarwal addressing netizens and apparently wanting to reveal the price of the S1. The video cuts off just before he announces the price. However, he can clearly be seen mouthing the number “nine” giving us reasons to believe that the S1 will be priced in the ninety-something thousand range. Well, if that is true, the Ola S1 will get an edge over most of its rivals in terms of pricing. Take a look at the video and see for yourself.
Ola S1
Ola Electric opened the reservation for its electric scooter on the evening of July 15th. The Ola Scooter can be reserved for ₹499 via olaelectric.com. The company is seeing unprecedented demand from customers who continue to throng the website to book the scooter in record numbers. Ola recently announced that its electric scooter received a record-breaking 100,000 reservations within the first 24 hours, making it the most pre-booked scooter in the world. The specs and features of the scooter have not been revealed however, we do know that Ola will be offering the scooter in a wide range of colours. While the exact names of the colours will be announced at the imminent launch, there will be choices in matte and gloss shades from options in blue and black, the vibrant hues of red, pink and yellow, as well as white and silver.
Once launched, the Ola Electric Scooter will go head-on against the Ather 450X and the Simple One which incidentally will be launched two hours after the S1. Ola is banking heavily on the understated yet quirky design of their electric scooter.
