Hero MotoCorp has launched the new Splendor iSmart 110, its very first motorcycle to be developed completely in-house, with Hero’s own technology. Built on an all new chassis and frame, the bike is powered by an all new 110cc engine that features Hero’s patented i3S technology. The model was unveiled earlier this year at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The new motorcycle draws power from the new BS-IV compliant 110cc engine. This air-cooled single cylinder, 4-stroker produces a maximum power output of 9.4 PS at 7500 rpm while the peak torque of 9 Nm comes up at 5500 rpm. The Splendor iSmart 110 also features Hero’s i3S (Idle-stop-start system). Transmission duties are taken care of by a 4 speed gearbox. This power-train enables the bike to sprint from 0-60 kmph in 7.45 seconds.
The Splendor iSmart rides on a new frame that is said to offer improved durability, enhanced agility and conformable riding experience, even on rough terrains. Said to have a low centre of gravity, the bike will reportedly offer superior balance. The new Hero MotoCorp Splendor will be available in four dual tone colours – silver and black, red and black, blue and black and sports red.
