For probably the first time in a decade, various manufacturers have experienced a substantial growth of sales in November when compared to the same period of last year. These manufacturers include  Tata Motors, Hyundai and Toyota. But it is the Nissan Motor India Private Limited that has literally put the popular manufacturers to shame in the growth and has recorded the maximum sales growth of 149 % for the month of November. Last month, Nissan sold 1131 units of the Sunny sedan. And it should not be forgotten  that the Micra hatchback has been doing decent numbers and has been playing a significant role in boosting the volumes. About 1550 units of Micra hatchback were sold last month, up by 47% from November,2010.  X-TRAIL , 370Z and Teana account for the remaining sales for Nissan India.

MD, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd, Mr Kiminobu Tokuyama said, “Achieving this level of sales performance in the current difficult market conditions in India reflects Nissan’s growing popularity in the Indian market. The locally manufactured Sunny and Micra give a great impetus to our continued growth in India, and we are confident of accelerating this journey much faster in the coming months.

Chief Executive Officer of Hover Automotive India (HAI), Nissan’s sales and marketing partner in India, Mr Dinesh Jain added,”Acceptance of Nissan models by customers in the most turbulent of economic conditions shows that customers’ preference towards the Nissan brand is growing day by day.”

We have always felt that Nissan Sunny has been positioned very well and it is ultimately reflecting in the sales figures, and how! We expect more exciting products to soon be launched by the Japanese auto major.
