Nissan Micra and Sunny to get costlier

Joining the likes of many other manufacturers, Nissan has decided to hike the prices of Micra Hatchback and the petrol variants of th Nissan Sunny Sedan.Come January 2012 and the these cars will get costlier by 2%. As expected, the reasons for the price increase are being cited as the appreciation in US Dollar vis-a-vis the Indian Rupee and rising costs of raw materials and manufacturing. It may be noted that Nissan recently introduced the diesel version of the Sunny sedan and it is priced considerably higher than the petrol sibling and that means that only the petrol variant of the Sunny Sedan will see a price hike. However, both petrol and diesel variants of the Micra hatchback are set to get costlier.

It may be noted that the Sunny diesel was launched just a couple of days back and we won’t call the car to be aggressively priced. However, the Sunny petrol, which was introduced to the marlet a few months ago is very competitively.

We hope that the increase in price would not become responsible for doing away with the pricing edge that Nissan enjoys with thrhad given the Sunny petrol.
