Nissan will showcase its Hi-Cross Concept at the fast approaching 2012 LA Auto Show. The Hi-Cross Concept was one of the first cars to be unveiled at the very important and popular Geneva Motor Show that was held in March this year.
The Nissan Hi-Cross Concept is being described as a potential design direction for the manufacturer in the future. The design language seen on the concept can trickle down to the Juke, Qashqai and Murano, and hold your breath; the India bound next gen X-Trail SUV.
The Hi-Cross sports a hybrid powertrain that uses an electric motor with a 2.0-liter direct injection petrol motor. It is being said that this hybrid arrangement has the performance of a 2.5-liter gasoline engine but with much lower fuel consumption and emissions.
The concept also has Nissan’s XTRONIC continuously variable transmission and a four-wheel drive system. The car’s front fascia is dominated by a V-shaped grille and the body has smooth flowing lines. The inside seems to be borrowed from the interiors of some Star Trek movie’s space ship with an electronic touch-screen control.
