New Twin-Turbo’ed Mercedes SL 400 replaces SL 350

Mercedes SL 350, which sports a naturally aspirated engine, has been replaced by a new twin turbo’ed Mercedes SL 400. The new engine variant is powered by a 3.0-liter biturbo V6 unit, which replaces the naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6 motor of the SL 350. The new model produces 27 hp and 110 Nm of more power and torque than the model it replaces.

The car’s biturbo system has a charge pressure of 1.8 bar and the new engine comes mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. The SL can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h  in 5.2 seconds, a full 0.7 seconds quicker than the SL 350. Top speed remains electronically-limited to 250 km/h. Thee biturbo engine that powers the new SL 400 boasts of a direct injection system with spray-guided combustion and a system pressure of up to 200 bar.

The Mercedes SL 400 comes equipped with a Frontbass audio system and Magic Vision Control wipe/wash system.

Prices for the new Mercedes SL 400 start from €97,282.50 ($133,375) in Germany.There are really good chances that the SL 400 is India bound.
