Aimed to address the growing demand for AMT vehicles in India, Tata Motors will soon introduce a new variant for its Nexon compact SUV which will come equipped with HyprDrive Self-Shift Gears (S-SG). The Nexon HyprDrive Self-SG is the first AMT in India to have Multi-Drive modes (3 modes – ECO, CITY, SPORT) in automatic transmission. The India bookings for the car has commenced across all its authorized dealerships at an amount of INR 11,000.
Tata Motors recently announced the specifications of the Nexon AMT. The new AMT gearbox will be available on the top-of-the-line XZA+ variants of the Nexon for now. The new transmission will be mated to the 1.2L Turbocharged Revotron and 1.5L Turbocharged Revotorq engines. There are no changes to the performance numbers and the 1198 cc petrol variant continues to deliver 110 PS of power at 5,000 and 170 Nm of torque at 1,750-4,000 rpm. The 1497 cc diesel engine delivers 110 PS of power at 3,750 rpm and 260 Nm of torque at 1,500-2,750 rpm.
With the introduction of Nexon Hyprdrive S-SG, Tata Motors has branded all its 2 pedal transmission cars as Hyprdrive while all the AMT variants from the Company will be now termed as Self-Shift Gears (S-SG).Nexon Hyprdrive with S-SG will be available in both Petrol and Diesel option.
