Remember we reported about the new Suzuki Hustler mini SUV recently? The good chaps at CarTrade have now come up with a report that says the new Hustler could be headed to India!
CarTrade goes on to say that the Hustler could target youths and young families in our country. Nothing surprising, consider that the new Suzuki Hustler comes with an exterior design that should appeal to the average young urban buyer.
The latest mini SUV from the popular auto maker gets its name from a 1969 off-road motorbike that was known as the Hustler 250.
The mini SUV went on sale in Japan earlier this year and has been classified benefits from ‘kei’ car credentials.
The new Suzuki Hustler is powered by a 660cc, three-cylinder petrol engine that has a max power of 52 PS @ 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 63 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The entry level variants come equipped with a five-speed manual transmission that sends power to just two wheels. The higher variants come with a CVT that sends power to all four wheels.
Also available is a turbocharged variant, which boasts of a max power output of 64 PS and peak torque of 95 Nm. As we said above, this variant gets a CVT and four wheel drive system.
The Hustler mini SUV is on sale in Japanese Domestic market for a starting price of 1.048 million Yen (approx INR 6.2 lakhs). The Turbo’ed variant has a starting price of 1.295 million Yen.
The new Suzuki Hustler can be purchased in any of the 11 exterior paint options.
While it isn’t yet for sure if the Hustler is coming our way, this development ensures that we won’t really be surprised to see the Hustler at the Auto Expo 2014.
