The refreshed car made its India debut at the ongoing Auto Expo 2014 and the new Skoda Superb facelift India launch will happen today, at an event in New Delhi.

The updated Superb sports a host of updates, all of which work to bestow the car with a sense of freshness to enable it to soldier on, until the advent of the all new model in a couple of years from now. At the front end, the new car sports a revised grille, new Skoda corporated identity logo, and a new set of headlights that sport LED DRLs. In side profile, the car looks much the same, save for a set of new design mag wheels.
Rear is where changes are the most evident. The Superb facelift’s rear end gets a new bumper, which no longer has registration plate housing, new boot lid and a set of new LED taillights.
Interiors remain largely unchanged and continue to offer high quality materials and a long equipment list. However, the car does get a new three-spoke steering wheel.
Engine and gearbox options for the refrehed car have been carried over from outgoing model. This means that the petrol variant gets a 160 PS, 1.8-liter four pot turbo motor that can be ordered with either a 6 speed manual or a 7 speed automatic gearbox. The diesel variant will be powered by a 140PS 2.0-liter four cylinder oil burner that comes mated to a 6 speed automatic gearbox.
