New Skoda Octavia Launched in India. Prices Starting @ INR 13.95 lakhs

The wait is over! The new Skoda Octavia has been launched in India and goes on sale for a starting price of INR 13.95 lakhs.

The new seventh gen 2013 Skoda Octavia has replaced the Laura in India and has been launched with three engine options. Here are the details-

• The entry level engine option is that of the 1.4 litre TSI Turbocharged Gasoline motor. This engine has a max power of 140PS, peak torque of 250 Nm, comes mated to a 6 speed manual ‘box and boasts of a claimed Fuel Efficiency figure of 16.8 kmpl
• The next petrol engine option, the 1.8 litre TSi Turbocharged Petrol motor, will tickle the taste buds of driving enthusiasts and has a max power of 180PS, peak torque of 250 Nm, comes mated to a 7 speed DSG auto ‘box (with NO paddle shifts) and has a claimed Fuel Efficiency of 14.7 kmpl
• The diesel engine on offer is the 2.0 litre TDi Turbocharged oil burner. This motor has a max power of 143PS, a peak torque of 320 Nm, can be ordered either with a 6 speed manual transmission or a DSG auto ‘box and has a claimed Fuel Economy of 20.6 kmpl for the manual variant and 19.3 kmpl for the DSG equipped variant

The new Octy has been launched in three trim levels- Active, Ambition and Elegance.

• The new Octavia 1.4 TSI is available only in Active and Ambition trims.
• The Octy 1.8 TSi is available only in the Elegance trim.
• The Octavia 2.0 TDi Manual goes on sale in Active and Ambition trims and the DSG variant is available in Ambition and Elegance trims.

The Elegance brings along features such as- rear decklid spoiler (for 1.8 TSI only), Bi-Xenon headlights, LED DRLs, tyre pressure monitoring, front park sensors, side and curtain airbags, Bolero audio player with 5.8 inch color touchscreen,sunroof with remote control, electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function and lumbar support, retractable screen for rear windscreen, storage compartment under front passenger seat, and cruise control.
