Hero Karizma R vs Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi- This is one battle which seems to have been going on forever and a clear winner is yet to emerge out of it. While we’ve always liked the 220 for its healthy torque, clean styling and fantastic headlamps, the ZMR has always come across as fairly appealing because of its high refinement levels, neutral ride and handling manners and it timeless styling. However, there is no denying that both these bikes can no more carry the ‘modern’ tag and have been losing out to newer, and fresher competition. Sometime late last year, the ZMA was given a comprehensive facelift, all in a bid to inject some freshness into the ‘first faired performance bike of modern India’ and while the Karizma also competes with some other products in the country, it is still the P220 that will pose the biggest threat to the refreshed offering. The new Hero Karizma R launch could happen anytime now and quite obviously, it has set our minds wondering if the 220 would continue to out-perform the ZMA. While enough has already been talked about the upcoming ZMA’s styling, which has earned Hero MotoCorp a lot of flak from many, we were yet to compare the spec sheets of the Hero Karizma R 2014 with the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi. But then, as the say, better late than never. So, here it is for you-
