As we reported earlier in the day, Hero showcased the Karizma R along with the new ZMR at the unveiling event in NCR today and what we have here now are some details of the upcoming ZMA.

As can be made out from the image we have here, the new Karizma 2013 isn’t really different from the bike we all used to dream about back in our high school days.

The new Hero Karizma R 2013, much like the bigger ZMR, sports a twin projector headlamp setup. This means that arch rival Bajaj Pulsar 220 will no longer have an edge over the ZMA in the headlight department. The Karizma’s fairing is essentially a “quarter-variant” of the new ZMR’s fairing and houses same trafficators, which in turn house the LEDs. Also, the new bike gets fairing mounted ORVMs. The bike also gets new “R Premium Sports” decals for the fairing.

The new ZMA also borrows its tail end from the ZMR. The bike also gets split seats and split grab-rails.

The updated Karizma is very likely to be powered by the same engine that powers the current model. The engine won’t get a FI unit and we reckon that all it would get is a slightly increased power output.

Much like the new ZMR, the suspension and wheels have been carried over from the earlier model. The bike also gets the same old fuel tank and continues to have a drum brake at rear. However, the bike does get an O-Ring chain and clip-ons styled handlebar.

The new Hero Karizma R 2013 is expected to be launched later this month and is highly likely to be launched without a price increase.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the new Karizma R.
