New Fiat Linea Classic Launch Today. Check out the Details

Just a few hours ago, we posted spy pics and some details of the soon-to-be-launched Fiat Linea Classic. Now, we have compiled all the details to give you a fair idea of what the Linea Classic is all about.

Fiat India would launch the new Classic range of entry level variants of its Linea sedan today and this budget end range would be the first of the total of nine launches that Fiat India has planned for next three years.

Essentially, the Fiat Line Classic is the regular Linea minus some bells and whistles.

As has been revealed by all the spy pics we have seen so far, the Fiat Linea Classic won’t come with fog lamps, alloy wheels, auto air con, airbags, beige dashboard, Blue&Me, Steering mounted audio controls, and power windows for rear windows.

The Fiat Linea Classic range will come with to engine options- that of a 1.4 litre, 4 cylinder, normally aspirated petrol engine and of a 1.3 litre Mulitjet turbo diesel motor. The latter will come fitted with a fixed geometry turbo instead of the variable geometry unit that is found on the regular Linea diesel. It may be noted that the Multijet unit, with a FGT, is also found in Punto and has a max power output of 75bhp. The 1.4 litre petrol engine remains unchanged and has a max power of 88bhp. Both the motors have been mated to 5 speed manual gearbox.

The Linea Classic, armed with a really aggressive price tag, is expected to remain on sale even when the Linea facelift replaces all the regular models.

It may be noted that the Linea facelift is expected to come with more features and hence, a slightly higher price tag. The Linea facelift could also come with a more potent 1.6 litre Multijet diesel engine. The Fiat Linea facelift India launch could happen in during Indian Auto Expo 2014, which would happen in February next year.

The Linea Classic will be seen rivalling the flagship variants of Honda Amaze, Swift Dzire, Toyota Etios and the Chevrolet Sail. Stay tuned for more info on the upcoming Fiat Linea Classic.
