A unique fusion of a compact crossover and an urban hatch, the Datsun Redi-Go has been unveiled in India today. Calling itself India’s first Urban Cross, the Redi-Go is based on a an all-new platform that promises to offer superior performance and handling. Aimed at the younger generation of buyers, it has been aptly styled to look cool, striking and modern. It will be powered by an 0.8-liter petrol engine that also propels the Kwid and will be paired to a 5-speed manual box. Bookings will open in the month of May for deliveries that will commence a month after.
It has been designed to be roomy, will offer best-in-class ground clearance of 185mm and promises to return a fuel economy figure that stands right up there with that of a budget hatchback.
Datsun plans to have more than 200 outlets in more than 165 cities. Out of these, 49 dealerships will be exclusive to the brand. The company will be targeting tier 2 and 3 cities aggressively with the Redi-Go

The tall body structure enabled engineers to deliver a spacious, bright interior and high driving position that is beyond expectations for a car in this class.

The Datsun redi-GO is based on the versatile Common Module Family (CMF-A) platform from the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Powered by an all-new 0.8L three-cylinder fuel efficient engine paired with a five speed manual transmission, the Datsun redi-GO delivers lively dynamic performance and high fuel efficiency. The new suspension system offers an excellent balance between handling, ride comfort and manoeuvrability.
