Datsun launched the Go+ today in Mumbai with prices starting from 3.96 lakh INR (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Here’s what you need to know about the Go+:
- Based on the Go hatchnack, it is a compact MPV with 7 seats that will compete primarily against the Maruti Ertiga and the Honda Mobilio.
- However, Datsun claims that the Go+ will create it own “sub-compact MPV” space, with the Go+ even taking the fight to the hatchback territory.
- The Go+ finishes under 4 meters, 3.995 meters to be precise. Else, it is 1.6 meters wide and is 1.4-meters high.
- The Go+ will only be available with a petrol engine. Powering the compact MPV is the same 1.2-litre, 12 valve, DOHC, 3-cylinder engine found on the smaller Go. Even power figures are the same, where the motor makes an identical 68 bhp at 5000 rpm, coupled with 104 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm.
- The Go+ boasts of an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 20.62 km/l and the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) among its competitors.
- Transmission options are limited to one 5-speed manual box.
- Ayushman Khurana is the brand ambassador, trotting the Go+ with a ‘Kuch naya sochein’ tagline. Besides, the television advertising campaign titled as ‘Nayi Parampara’ (feat. Aloknath as “babuji” and Ayushman as the son) starts airing from tonight.
- After all the hoop-la regarding the Go’s safety, the Go+ gets an optional driver side airbag.
- The Go+ will be available in 4 variants: D (3.96 lakh INR), D1 (3.98 lakh INR), A (4.33 lakh INR) and T (4.81 lakh INR) – all prices ex-showroom Mumbai.
- The range-topping T variant will be available with electric power steering, front power windows and a Mobile Docking Station (one can mount their smartphone directly on to the dashboard, wherein it connects to the two on-board speakers).
- Standard features include fatigue reducing front seats with Spinal Support, Smart Meter with optimum gearshift indicator and digital trip computer, Follow Me Home head lamps, Intelligent speed sensitive Wipers with Teardrop function, connected front seats and ventilated disc brakes.
- Boot space is 347 liters with the third row folded.
- The Go+ will be offered with 5 exterior body colors – Ruby, Gold, White, Silver and Gray.
