Famous German premium car maker Mercedes-Benz has showcased the new GLA class crossover at the ongoing 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The new GLA Class is the fifth model in the carmaker’s SUV line up and made its public debut earlier this year at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new GLA Class is expected to go on sale in Europe early next year and quite obviously, it is headed our way!

As we have been saying, the new 2015 Mercedes GLA looks like an A Class on steroids. Unlike the GLA Concept, which boasted of a very aggressive stance, the production spec model looks more crossover-like and more of a Volvo V40 adversary rather than an Audi Q3 rival.

Mercedes-Benz GLA measures 4417mm in length, 1804 mm in width and 1494 mm in height. The car is highly aerodynamic with a Cd figure of 0.29.

The GLA is the first Mercedes-Benz SUV to be optionally available with the new-gen permanent all-wheel drive  4MATIC system, which benefits from fully variable torque distribution. The US spec GLA 250 is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that has a max power of 211 hp and peak torque of 350 Nm.

US Launch of the new 2015 Mercedes GLA 250 is expected to happen sometime in mid 2014. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the new Mercedes GLA Class crossover.
