In November last year, Mercedes-Benz India launched the 2015 C-Class with a single petrol variant on offer. According to a report, the German car maker is all set to launch its diesel variant- C220 CDI in February end. Similar to the petrol variant, the diesel C-Class will also be sold via the CBU route with CKD operations expected to commence in the coming months.
The new 2015 C-Class carries huge desgin cues from the big daddy S-Class. The new C-Class is longer, wider and lighter than the model it replaces. The design underlines the squat, wide stance of the car with a fusion of elegance and athleticism. A soft edge which merges into the tail lights accentuates the car’s strong shoulders.
On the inside, the new 2015 C-Class gets what Mercedes likes to term as “Cobra-look” sporty front seats with integral head restraint. The front seats can be adjusted to a larger extent for height and are covered in ARTICO man-made leather. The new infotainment system features 3D navigation and also allows networking with mobile devices via Bluetooth. Garmin MAP PILOT sat-nav works in combination with the Audio 20 CD and gets its map data from a SD card with navigation software. Mercedes-Benz Apps such as Mercedes-Benz Radio can be used even while driving.
Powering the C220 CDI is a 2.2 liter oil burner which churns out 170 HP and 400 Nm of twisting force. The engine is mated to the trusty 7G-Tronic transmission which allows the car to hit the ton in 7.4 seconds. Stay tuned to Motoroids for more dope on the C220 CDI India launch.
