The new 2015 BMW M3 sedan and the M4 Coupe have been spotted in India, marking its first ever appearance in the country. Spotted by keen Team BHPian BraveArc in Chennai, the brand new ‘M’ twins certainly look the part in their trademark colors- Yas Marina Blue for the M3 and Austin Yellow for the M4. Earlier this year Philipp Von Sahr, President of BMW India, had earlier expressed that the company plans to bring the ‘M’ Series models in India by 2014, and these findings adhere to that.
In terms of power, the BMW M4 coupe dons a 3-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo engine that produces 431 bhp of power and 550Nm of torque. The power can be mated to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic transmission. With the automatic configuration, the M4 coupe hits the ton mark from a standstill in 4.1 seconds while the manual does the same in 4.3 seconds. The top speed on the M4 coupe is electronically limited to 250 kph.
Drive shaft, roof, roof bow, trunk, and front strut brace are made out of carbon fibre reinforced plastic. The M4 coupe will be the first vehicle from the M family to have an electric power steering unit. The steering system has been specifically tuned for the M3 and M4.
