The new 2014 Skoda Rapid has been launched silently by the Indian subsidiary of the Czech car maker. The 2014 Skoda Rapid also receives a variant rejig along with some very exciting new features.
The new features added to the 2014 Skoda Rapid include:
- Projector lens headlamps
- Additional airbags in middle variant
- Bluetooth telephone connectivity
- Multi function steering wheel
- Leather package
- On board computer
Skoda has introduced the base variants with the new Rapid again. The variants on offer are : Active, Ambition, Ambition Plus and Elegance.
The India spec Skoda Rapid comes with 1.6 litre petrol and diesel motors. The 1.6 litre petrol motor is also available with a 6 speed automatic transmission with tiptronic mode. The MPI petrol engine produces a max power of 105 PS, and a peak torque of 153 NM. The diesel 1.6 engine produces the same amount of power, while producing a healthy 250 NM of peak torque.
Prices for the new Skoda Rapid start are:
Active 1.6 petrol : INR 7.09 lakh
Elegance 1.6 diesel: INR 9.61 lakh
