The 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 is hardly a couple of hours away from being launched in India and here is a quick report on all that you need to know about the soon-to-be-launched bike.
The new 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 will come to us via CBU (completely built unit) route and is likely to carry a sticker price of around INR 12 lakhs.
The new 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 has been winning plenty of accolades for its futuristic design and ferocious performance. The 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 is powered by the same 1043cc DOHC liquid-cooled 16-valve inline 4 cylinder engine that powered the earlier model. For the new 2014 edition though, the motor develops a higher power output of 142ps@10,000 rpm. The peak torque, at 111 nm, stays the same as earlier but is now developed at 500rpm lower. The 2014 Z1000’s motor benefits from a remapped ECU and a new cold air intake (CAI) system that sends fresh air to the airbox via extra ducts at the front of the bike, with a new non-woven air filter element providing better flow at high-RPM.
The new 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 is built around a new aluminum frame and boasts of fully adjustable 41mm inverted SFF-BP forks at front and new preload and rebound adjustable back-link monoshock at the rear. The highlight here is that the new monoshock is almost horizontally mounted and enables the bike to have an optimal mass centralization and heat resistance. The 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 has a 310mm twin front petal discs and a 250mm single rear petal disc. ABS comes as standard.
