The much discussed 2014 Audi A8 Facelift will have its web premiere on August 21 and what we have here today are official design sketches of the updated flagship sedan from Audi.
The upcoming 2014 Audi A8 facelift has made a lot of news and the test mules of the refreshed car have been spotted on Indian roads on numerous occasion. All this could mean that India might become one of the first few markets to get the 2014 A8.
As can be seen in these design sketches, the car sports the much discussed Matrix LED headlights. The most commendable bit about these headlights is that the high beam can be used continuously without blinding the drivers of oncoming vehicles. This is because the projectors are connected to a camera, which detects the line of vision of the oncoming car’s driver and switches off the diodes that fall in the line. However, the remaining part continues to remain on high beam. Very Clever, ain’t it?
Along with the Audi Matrix LED lights, the car also gets the company’s new turn signal technology, new bumper and an updated grille.
At the rear end, the car features a chrome strip running across the bootlid and the dual exhaust pipes get the rectangular treatment. The rear end also gets an updated bumper which features some more chrome.
It isn’t yet for sure but the interiors could get an upholstery change and some more gizmos.
As for the engine options which would be on offer, the 3.0 liter TDI diesel and the 3.0 liter & the 4.0 liter TFSI petrol engines are likely to be carried over from the current model. So is be the gigantic W12 6.3 liter for the top of the line variants.
The car is expected to have its public debut at the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, which starts on 10 September.
