We had been waiting for this car since Auto Expo 2012 , where it was first scheduled to arrive. However, the it was only yesterday that the Mitsubishi Challenger was launched in the country, albeit, as Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. The car will retail for Rs 23.53 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new SUV from the popular Jap car maker comes with a 2.5-litre 178PS, 400Nm oil burner. The car also comes with an option of ‘on demand 4WD system’. The car’s approach angle is 36 degree where as the departure angle is 25 degree with 23 degree break-over. The car has some trendy 17-inch alloys shod with 265/65 R17 tyres. The interiors of the Pajero Sport get leather upholstery, MP3 player, MID, automatic climate control system, audio controls on steering, self-levelling projector headlamps, rear parking sensors, rear wash/wipe with defogger and altimeter & barometer combo that comes from the Pajero. The Pajero Sport has 60:40 split for middle row with 50:50 for third. Safety features include dual airbags and ABS & EBD. The grandpa Pajero SUV on sale in India will sell for another half a year before being discontinued.
