It has emerged that West bengal based Indian auto maker Hindustan Motors, which is responsible for sales and assembly of Mitsubishi cars in India, will soon launch the automatic variant of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport in our rapidly growing car market.
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Automatic launch could happen around the middle of this year and it is highly likely that the upcoming model will boast of a a 5-speed automatic gearbox. It may be noted that the Pajero Sport being sold in Thailand employs the same transmission in the automatic variant. Currently in India, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport comes equipped with a 4 pot 2.5-litre engine that has a max power of 178PS and comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Pajero Sport is currently brought to us via CKD route and is being assembled at HM’s Chennai facility. The automatic variant too will be a CKD import and will be assembled at the same plant.
