MG Motor India has launched a new variant of its best-selling car called the ZS EV. In the new variant, the carmaker has added the advanced Level-2 of the ADAS system. This variant is priced at Rs. 27.89 Lakhs Ex-showroom offering the best package of advanced technology and safety.
New Features in Updated MG ZS EV
MG Motors has loaded the updated new ZS EV with a plethora of new features. With this update, the carmaker has introduced the advanced Level-2 of the ADAS system. The following are the features in the Level-2 ADAS package of ZS EV:
- 3 Levels of Sensitivity and Warning
- Traffic Jam Assist (TJA)
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
- Speed Assist System (SAS)
- Lane Assist System (LAS)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Intelligent Headlight Control (IHC)
- Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
- Blind Spot Detection (BSD)
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert System
Powertrain of MG ZS EV
However, the carmaker has not made any changes to the powertrain of the ZS EV. The ZS EV continues with an IP69K-rated 50.3kWh battery pack delivering a claimed range of 461kms on a single charge. Moreover, the ZS EV gets the front-mounted 8-layer hairpin electric motor churning out 176ps and 280nm of output.
This results in a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint of 8.5 seconds which is fast for this SUV. The MG has claimed the charging time of ZS EV from 0 to 80% in less than an hour with the DC charger. However, the AC charger takes around 9 hours to fully charge the vehicle.
Pricing and the Competition
MG Motors has priced the ZS EV in the price range of Rs. 23.38 Lakhs to Rs. 27.89 Lakhs Ex-showroom. This electric SUV continues to take on the likes of the Hyundai Kona and Tata Nexon EV indirectly. This launch represents the commitment of the manufacturer to providing a convenient EV and promoting the adoption of EVs in the market.
