New Features to be Introduced in MG Cars

As a part of this partnership, the carmaker will offer the new Jio-powered connectivity features in their upcoming cars. The features list includes Jio Powered Hinglish Voice Commands, Music Apps, Payment Apps, hardware, and other advanced connectivity features. The upcoming cars will have an integrated e-SIM from Jio to be installed in their infotainment system.

Jio has trained their Jio Voice Assistant to speak in a multitude of Indian languages, different dialects, and voice tones. The new Voice Assistant can be activated by saying Hello Jio for in-car voice commands with dialogs. The dialog “Hello Jio” will offer plenty of features and details about Cricket, Weather, News, Horoscope, etc. Moreover, the users will be able to control the AC, play music, or even ask about cricket match details.

About MG and Voice Assistants

MG had put a lot of resources into voice commands and these assistants exists in pretty much all the models that they offer. Although unfortunately most of the time it is unusable and is only considered a “gimmick”. Moreover the voice detection doesn’t work properly with it mis-interpretating things. It will probably call a distant relative if you ask it to open the sunroof.

This new partnership with Jio can help to improve it’s voice detection software whilst adding more features like Hinglish voice commands as Jio has the capability and ample resources to build a reliable software from the ground up. However it is a certainty as they do not have any previous expertise in this department.
