It is a widely known fact that the new S Class (W222) will spawn as many as seven body variants. One of these seven variants would be the S Class coupe, which would replace the current CL-Class model. The new S-Class Coupe Concept was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show some time back and the production model is likely to be out within a year.

It is now being said that the S Class Coupe would give birth to the S Class Convertible, which will feature a fabric top and would borrow the engine options from the coupe variant.

The S Class Coupe and Convertible would be  have four seats and would be the first two cars from Mercedes in the fast rising four-seater coupe segment. The cars will look sportier than the CL-Class and will also get more powerful engines.

The cars will look much like the S Class Coupe Concept that was showcased earlier and would have a similar glasshouse and a sloping rear windscreen. The cars will borrow their underpinnings and the plethora of high end features such as the Magic Ride Control from the S Class. The car will also borrow all 500 of LEDs that can be found on the new S Class sedan.

The S-Class Coupe and Convertible will be powered by a range of more powerful V8 and V12 motors, with the AMG variant having around 630 horses to play with.
