Mercedes C-Class AMG Sport Edition Unveiled for UK

Mercedes-Benz has announced plans to offer a new C-Class AMG Sport Edition in the United Kingdom. The AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus models will be replaced by the AMG Sport Edition, and the model is based on the outgoing C-Class and is available as a sedan, coupe and wagon.

Features on the new trim include the AMG-spec bodykit, steering wheel, alloy wheels along with a 15mm reduction in ride height over the outgoing AMG Sport model. Dark-tinted headlights, a high-gloss black grille and an integrated boot spoiler for Saloon and Coupe models also feature.

There are no mechanical upgrades for the new model but inside the seats are covered in black Artico or Dinamica with blue and grey contrast stitching – which also features on the dark brushed aluminium inserts and gear selector. The cabin comes nicely equipped with Artico / Dinamica AMG Sport Plus seats, a sport steering wheel and “dark brushed” aluminum trim. The model also has grey contrast stitching and split folding rear seats.

Two optional packs have also been made available on the new model. The Premium Package, priced at £1,595, includes Mercedes’ COMAND Online with Media Interface, a reversing camera, heated front seats, Lighting Package and DAB digital radio. The model can also be equipped with a Premium Plus Package that includes all the aforementioned equipment as well as a panoramic glass sunroof.

With the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class model arriving soon, the trim and engine combinations for the current model has dropped from 47 variants to just 19. Pricing for the Mercedes C-Class AMG Sports Edition starts at £30,170 for the sedan, £31,370 for the wagon and £32,455 for the coupe (OTR).
