That the new Mercedes A Class is headed to India is a well known fact. We have now got to know that the Mercedes A Class will be launched in India in May 2013.
On its arrival, the A Class will become the most inexpensive and smallest car in Mercedes India’s lineup.
Mercedes India will launch the A200CDI, the diesel variant of the car, in our market. Powering the A200CDI is a turbocharged, 1.8 litres oil burner that has a max power output of 134bhp and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
There are good chances that the A Class will be sold with an AMG kit until the commencement of its Indian assembly.
On the inside, the car has some tastefully designed interiors that have been put together using best in class materials. The interiors, just like the exteriors, have a hint of sportiness to them and compliment the exteriors pretty well.
The A200 CDI will come to us with a price tag of around INR 16-18 Lakhs.

At 18 Lac on-road its a good price. Any idea if BMW has something in pipelin?? I love BMW, and after having read a lot of horror stories about Merc and Audi (Volkswagen, Skoda, Ducati) After Sales Service, I dont want to park that kind of money with them no matter how in-expensive they are.
What's the point of diesel if you want to buy a car like that..?
