In the 7th installment of his insanely popular and lucrative franchise Gymkhana, Ken Block gets his hands sweaty with this pretty psyched out Mustang. Caught filming for Gymkhana 7 earlier, Ken ditches the Ford Fiesta ST Hybrid Hoon Vehicle (HHV) for this bonkers Hoonicorn_RTR Mustang.
Based on an all-wheel drive(!) 1965 Ford Mustang notch-back, the Hoonicorn_RTR is an one-off, performance drift car that made it’s debut at SEMA this year. Spawning a couple of years, the build is a collaborative effort between Ken Block, Hoonigan racing and RTR, the automotive tuning brand of Formula Drift star Vaughn Gittin Jr- who recently unveiled a 725 bhp RTR Mustang (power, power everywhere!).
The newest Gymkhana star lugs around a 410 cubic inch Roush Yates V8 that produces 845hp and is mated with a custom Sadev all-wheel drive system- didn’t we hear drift car? Trust Ken to get anything sideways! The car looks pretty mental too, with the old Mustang bodywork receiving some serious, race-car inspired go-faster treatment which includes a wide-body kit, various gashes, splitters and spoilers. The build was carried out at ASD Motorsports’ facilities in California, North Carolina.
The official launch date for Gymkhana 7 is yet to be announced. Watch this space!
