Maserati is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and to commemorate it the Italian luxury marque has released a limited edition version of the Ghibli sports saloon. Developed in collaboration with Italian fashion house, Ermenegildo Zegna, it is apt that Maserati has chosen to unveil it at the world’s fashion capital. Regular readers might also remember that Maserati unveiled the Quattroporte Zegna Edition at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, a car much in the same mould.

So what does the Zegna Edition get? Only cosmetic upgrades, sadly, albeit very tasteful ones.

The Ghibli Zegna Edition comes with a snazzy tri-coated paint finish known as Azzuro Astro. It now rides on 20-inch Urano wheels finished in what Maserati calls a ‘Liquid Metal’ finish.

The luxury trappings are more apparent inside, with the car done up in special tanned leather and Zegna-developed anthracite silk.

Decorative carbon fibre inserts adorn the central tunnel and door panels while the mat covers have a leather insert with embroidered Ghibli name. The door sill plates are machined from billet aluminum and satin finished. A carbon fibre insert carries the Maserati logo while an Ermenegildo Zegna Edition plate has been applied to the central pillar and console between the front seats.

Powering the Maserati Ghibli Ermenegildo Zegna Edition is the same unit that does duty in the regular Ghibli, a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6, paired to a four-wheel drive system, and producing 415 PS of peak power and 550 Nm of peak torque.
Mated to the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the car will sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 284 kmph.
