Maruti Suzuki has already entered the electric vehicle space with the e Vitara, but the company is not stopping there. A much smaller electric hatchback has now been spotted during road testing overseas, giving a fresh look at what could become the brand’s most affordable EV. The new model is expected to sit below the e Vitara and take on electric city cars like the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet. The latest test vehicle also shows that development is moving ahead with several production ready changes.
Maruti’s Upcoming Small EV Takes Shape
The spy images reveal a compact hatchback with partial camouflage. Even though some parts are covered, the overall shape is easy to understand. The test cars wear a Blue body with a White roof, similar to the Vision e Sky concept shown earlier.
Unlike the concept model, this version uses regular side mirrors, standard door handles and steel wheels. These changes are expected as the company prepares the car for mass production. Aero style alloy wheels could arrive on higher variants later.
