Design

The Grand Vitara measures 4345 mm in length, 1645 mm in width, and 1795 mm in height. The wheelbase is rated at 2600 mm. The front fascia of the Grand Vitara is dominated by an imposing dark chrome grille with a chrome surround. The Hybrid variant gets a dark chrome finished grille whereas the Mild Hybrid gets a standard chrome finish for the front grille. It gets 3-element LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators. The DRLs neatly merge into a chrome strip that houses the Suzuki logo. The LED headlight is placed lower down below the DRLs.

The side features a chrome window beltline and silver roof rails. It also gets 17-inch dual-tone finish alloy wheels. The rear gets 3-element sweeping LED taillamps that mimic the LED DRLs in the front. The LED taillamps are further connected via a thin LED strip. The reversing lamps and indicators are further placed on the sides. Other design elements of the Grand Vitara include a shark fin antenna and skid plates in the front and rear.

Interior

At first look, the interiors seem to be a straight lift from the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The Strong Hybrid variants get Black leather with champagne gold accents with a matching stitch pattern for the interior. Whereas the Mild Hybrid variant gets Bordeaux faux leather with Luminant silver accents in the interior. The passenger side instrument panel gets a leather finish which is also extended to the door pads. The center stage is taken up by the now familiar 9-inch Smartplay Pro+ HD infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

It comes with a premium sound system and Arkymys sound tuning for an enhanced sound experience. The Grand Vitara is equipped with Maruti’s Suzuki Connect with 40+ connected car features like remote A/C start. Other features include ventilated leather seats, a 7-inch MID,  push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a heads-up display, a 360-degree parking camera, a panoramic sunroof, and an auto-dimming IRVM.  The rear-seat passengers get A/C vents, USB chargers, and a center armrest. It also comes with a 60:40 split function. The boot space is rated around 355 litres for the Smart Hybrid variant whereas the Strong Hybrid has a boot space of 255 litres due to the battery’s placement in the boot.

The Grand Vitara is based on Suzuki’s Global C platform just like the Brezza, S Cross, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It comes with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist, Anti-Lock Braking (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution(EBD), Dual Airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 3-point ELR seat belts (All seats), and rear disc brakes standard across all variants. It comes mated to an e-drive transmission. This system is paired with a 177.6 V lithium-ion battery which will enable the Grand Vitara to run on an electric-only range of a few kilometers. The fuel economy of the Strong Hybrid variant is rated at 27.97 km/l. Though the Grand Vitara is available in the front-wheel drive format as standard, it is also offered with Suzuki’s AllGrip all-wheel drive system.
