Kawasaki India has launched the W175 motorcycle at ₹1.47 lakh. The W175 is the cheapest Kawasaki that you can buy in the country today. Previously, the Ninja 300 was the company’s most affordable motorcycle in India. Bookings for the W175 are set to commence from today and deliveries are set to begin in December 2022. The bike is offered in two variants, namely, Standard at ₹1.47 lakh and Special Edition at ₹1.49 lakh. The Introductory pricing is only available for a limited number of units. The Kawasaki W175 is the more affordable sibling of the W800. Being the W800’s siblings, it borrows a lot of design cues from it. It gets a round multi-reflector headlight upfront, a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, and a side panel that is box-shaped. It also gets a curved fender at the back with the taillight and indicators mounted on it. The seat is a single-piece unit and there is a tubular grab rail as well. Many of these design elements will remind you of the W800. The Standard model comes in Black color whereas the Special edition comes in Red color. In terms of equipment, it comes with an analog speedometer with a small display. The W175 is based on a tubular semi-double-cradle frame.
It gets a telescopic fork in the front and twin shock absorbers in the rear with suspension travel of 65mm. The bike has a natural riding position thanks to its handlebar positioning, an optimum seat height of 790mm, and footpegs. It gets 17-inch steel spoke wheels to maintain that retro look. The braking duties are taken of by a single disc at the front and a drum at the rear and it is equipped with Single channel ABS. The Kawasaki W175 is powered by a 13hp, 13.2Nm, 177cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It gets fuel injection to comply with the BS6 norms. The bike weighs 135kg which makes it pretty light meaning that the performance should be good.
