A fitting finale to the Maruti Suzuki Autocross saw participants battle it out at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida today. The competition in its 12th year now is designed to provide an experience of rallying in a controlled environment. The participants got a chance to showcase their motoring skills in a secured environment with controlled turns and twists. The task was to finish the lap of 2.4 kms in the shortest possible time. The final round saw 56 Drivers compete across various categories.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Manohar Bhatt, Vice President (Marketing) said, “For over 10 years now, Maruti Suzuki has been an ardent supporter of motorsport rallies. Maruti Suzuki Autocross is now the best stepping stone for drivers who have a passion for rallying and racing. Competitions like Autocross and rallies like Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalaya, Maruti Suzuki Desert Strom & Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare offer thrill, joy and adventure, which are all part of the core DNA of Maruti Suzuki motor sports. The participants showed immense grit and determination and great sportsmanship. I would like to congratulate the winners and wish them all the luck in the future.”

Maruti Suzuki Autocross, this year, saw as many as 140 participants competing in 11 different categories. Of these 20 per cent were women and 40 per cent were participating for the first time in this rally. The highlight of this competition was the “antique car” category wherein cars over 20 years old participated. Participants from Maruti Suzuki Autocross have also gone on to participate in adventure sport rallies like Maruti Suzuki Raid-de-Himalaya, Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm and Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare

Maruti Suzuki Autocross being the most popular grass root level motorsport event around the globe also gives an equal opportunity to amateurs who do not have the means to shell out large sums of money to enter the competition as the registration does not require the participant to pay any sum to enter the contest. This has paved way for more participation amongst motor sports enthusiasts on a broader level across all age groups.A fitting finale to the Maruti Suzuki Autocross saw participants battle it out at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida today.
