The WagonR has to be among the most successful of the cars to come from Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the leading car maker of our country. The WagonR, which is currently the second largest selling car in Indian car market, has been thru a complete model change and several facelifts and Maruti has been pretty regular with regularly updating the car.

It has now emerged that Maruti might be planning to launch the WagonR Stingray in India in a bid to combat the sluggish phase that our car market is going through. The Stingray is basically a sportier looking variant of the WagonR and was first launched in 2007. The car comes with more features.

The WagonR Stingray is most likely to sell alongside the existing model and would be positioned slightly above the current vehicle.

For India, the WagonR Stingray will be powered by the 1 litre three cylinder K-Series petrol engine that powers many other A segment hatchbacks from MSIL.
