Mahindra Vision S production-ready test model has now been spotted once again. After the company showcased the Vision S concept last year, the latest prototype is giving a much better look at what buyers can expect. This time, the spy images reveal several interior details along with a closer look at the SUV’s overall design. The model is expected to become one of Mahindra’s important future launches and will sit on the brand’s new flexible NU_IQ architecture.
Interior gets a modern layout
The latest test vehicle shows a cabin that looks quite different from Mahindra’s current SUVs. The dashboard is positioned high and gets a clean layout with large screens.
Some of the visible cabin details include:
- Two-spoke steering wheel similar to the BE 6
- Large touchscreen infotainment display
- Fully digital instrument cluster
- Vertically placed AC vents
- Conventional gear selector lever
- Wireless charging pad
- Engine start/stop button
- A-pillar grab handles for easier entry and exit
- Manual handbrake on this test vehicle
- Fabric seat upholstery
The steering wheel appears similar to the one seen in the BE 6. Earlier test vehicles had a different steering wheel, so Mahindra could still be testing different versions.

Exterior styling stays close to earlier sightings
The latest spy pictures also provide another look at the SUV’s body shape. It carries a bold and upright design with several rugged styling elements.
Visible exterior highlights include:
- Rectangular front grille with vertical slats
- Circular LED headlamps on the test vehicle
- Clamshell-style bonnet
- Flat bonnet line
- Wide wheel arches
- Upright windscreen
Earlier spy shots had shown production-style headlamps, while this prototype continues with temporary circular lighting units.
More features likely on higher variants
The test vehicle appears to be a mid-spec version, which means higher trims are likely to offer additional equipment.
Feature
Panoramic sunroof
Level 2 ADAS
360-degree camera
Ventilated front seats
Powered front seats
Electronic parking brake
Independent rear suspension
A rotary controller placed beside the steering wheel is also visible. It may be used for headlight controls, although Mahindra has not confirmed its function.

Built on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ platform
The Vision S will be among the first SUVs to use Mahindra’s NU_IQ platform. This new architecture has been developed to support multiple powertrain options without major changes to the vehicle structure.
Expected powertrain choices include:
- Petrol
- Diesel
- Hybrid
- Electric
- Flex-fuel (possible)
A diesel-powered prototype has already been spotted during earlier rounds of testing.
