The new Mahindra Verito Vibe hatchback will be launched on June 5. Mahindra has now published a teaser image of the upcoming hatchback. We have been pretty regulars with posting about the Verito Vibe hatchback and it will be interesting to see if the soon-to-be-launched car would be able to eat into the sales of B segment hatchbacks from leading car makers like MSIL and HMIL.
As was easy to make out from spy pics, the Verito Vibe will come with an exterior styling that might not appeal to all. This is courtesy unusually wide C pillars, which together with body panels from the sedan variant, make the car look like a hastily truncated version of the Verito sedan. The car does have a hint of Ford Focus near the C pillars but it is tough to guess if the car buying lot would appreciate the car’s overall design.
The Verito Vibe will battle it out against the high selling Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai i20 and could be priced in the vicinity of INR 5.5-6 lakhs. Powering the Verito Vibe will be the tried and tested 1.5 litre Renault K9K diesel engine that powers many cars in our market.
Speaking on the ‘Verito Vibe’, Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, has said “Customer centric innovation has always been at the heart of any product development at the Mahindra Group. The Verito Vibe marks our entry in the high volume sub 4 metre segment. While developing this product we have paid particular attention to making this car look different and we are sure that it will appeal to customers with its young and sporty looks and that too without compromising the benefits which our existing Verito has to offer. “
