The Mahindra Mojo probably qualifies to enter the record books for being one of the most tested products ever in the manufacturing sector. Now, after years of nurturing and care in the Uterus, Mahindra has finally decided to cut the bike’s umbilical cord. However, some of their apprehensions still haven’t vaporized though, as they’ve only started trial production of the Mojo at their Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh.
Rumored to launch in June this year, we expect Mahindra to have infused a lot of their learning from MotoGp and years of public road testing to make the Mojo virtually bomb proof. Powered by a single cylinder 300cc, liquid cooled, FI motor that is expected to churn out around 28-30 bhp, it will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Concentrating on being a marathon runner rather than a sprinter, the Mojo will be equipped with circular headlamps which are accentuated by DRLs, a funky instrument cluster, petal disc brake up-front, USD front forks and a lot of gold splattered all over the bike. If the end result comes out as a well engineered, modern product, the Mahindra Mojo could just carve out a niche market for itself, however, we aren’t sure as how many would rather peel or scratch that Mojo moniker away.
