Thanks to a new report that has surfaced on the web world, we’ve got to know that premium car maker Lexus is working on a seven-seat crossover. While details on this upcoming model are scarce at this moment, the said report mentions that the manufacturer would either develop an all-new crossover, right from the grounds up, or could add a third row or seats to its next gen RX, which should be out towards the last quarter of next year.  It is being speculated that the upcoming model will be called as the Lexus TX and it would be based either on the front wheel drive platform of the Toyota Camry sedan or the rear wheel drive platform of the Lexus IS or Lexus GS.

So far, it is unclear which direction the manufacturer would take for the development of its seven-seat crossover but Lexus USA’s Group Vice President and General Manager has said,”We feel like we’re missing a 35,000-units-a-year opportunity. We’re working hard to rectify that.” Jeff Bracken went on to say “We could bring it to market in 2016 or 2017.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the speculated Lexus TX seven-seat crossover.
