Alfa Romeo could soon turn into a stand-alone company

Thanks to a report that has emerged on the cyber space, we’ve got to know that Alfa Romeo could soon become a stand-alone car manufacturer. As per this latest report doing rounds on the cyber space, Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne has made a decision to turn Alfa into a stand alone car making company, much like Ferrari and Maserati. This means that Alfa Romeo would be soon taken apart from Fiat Group Automobiles S.p.A., which also comprises of the Lancia, Abarth and Fiat Professional brand.

It is also being said that Sergio Marchionne will make an official announcement regarding this decision on May 6, when he will announce a new strategy for Fiat-Chrysler. The plan related to launching Alfa Romeo as a stand alone manufacturer includes Ferrari engines that will power upcoming RWD sedan and crossover/SUV models. I

While an Alfa Romeo crossover could be launched sometime in 2017, an SUV is highly likely to come out in 2018 . All these new vehicles are likely to be sold under Jeep’s dealer network outside of North America. This will mean Alfa Romeo buyers would have access to 1,700 showrooms.
