Land Rovers battle Austrian snow in the first look of Spectre, James Bond’s new movie

A few days back, we brought you news of Spectre, the twenty-fourth installment in the James Bond franchise, using vehicles from the Jaguar Land Rover family to add more pizzazz to its customary high-octane chase sequences. Well, now we have a sneak peek at what they filmmakers have in store for the upcoming movie.

All the way from the snow-capped mountains of Solden, Austria, this behind-the-scenes footage shows some tantalizing glimpses of some specially-modified Land Rover Defender Big Foot SUVs scrabbling for grip in the snow as they go about their business. It seems like they’re in pursuit of the Range Rover Sport SVR, presumably piloted by Bond or one of his many maidens. You might remember that nine of the latter models were stolen from the set the week it started shooting.

Not seen in the video, but still onboard is Jaguar’s mighty C-X75 concept supercar that, sadly, never made it into production.  As befitting Jaguar’s tagline of “it’s good to be bad,” the C-X75 will be driven by the movie’s baddies, culminating in an epic chase sequence with 007’s new Aston Martin DB10. Jaguar specially constructed the C-X75 in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering for the movie.

In this short clip, we also have our first glimpse of Daniel Craig reprising his iconic role for the fourth time. Outfitted head-to-toe in black and sporting a pair of glacier glasses, he looks suitably sinister. And Lea Seydoux, the new Bond girl, does look good in fur.
