Renault Samsung Motors has announced that it has bagged 5,000 orders for the new QM3 crossover in just two weeks since the commencement of bookings!

The new QM3 is basically a rebadged Renault Captur and was launched in Korea on November 20. Such has been the response to the latest crossover from Renault Samsung that the manufacturer received 1,000 orders within seven minutes after commencement of the bookings. The deliveries of the first 1000 QM3s will commence sometime later this month.

The remaining 4000 units, which have been booked in last two weeks, will be delivered in the first quarter of next year. The Renault Samsung QM3 made its public debut in Korea at the Seoul Motor Show and was chosen as the Best Car of the Show.

The new QM3 crossover is the fifth model in Renault Samsung Motor’s product portfolio and has been targetted at the young buyers looking for an alternative to a conventional B segment car. The new QM3 finds itself slotted below the QM5 (which is nothing but the Renault Koleos) and new set of badges apart, is every bit a Renault Captur.

Prices of the new Renault QM3 commence at 22,500,000 Korean Won (approx $21,260) and the car is available in three trim levels- SE, LE and RE.

The only engine that is currently available is the 1.5-liter oil burner that has a max power of 89hp and comes attached to a 6-speed DCT dual-clutch gearbox. This engine has a fuel economy of 18.5 kmpl (43.5 mpg in US cycle).
